The Latest at Greenway Institute for the Arts
As the season of GreenwayREADS has drawn to a close, GIA still has many exciting events in store for the remainder of the school year!
After School Programming
All spring semester long, GIA hosts free arts-based extracurricular programming for students on the Fairfax High School campus. Voice classes are every Monday from 4-6 pm, dance classes are every Tuesday from 3-4pm, and drama classes are every Wednesday and Thursday from 4–6 pm. This semester, students are preparing for Fairfax High School’s Drama department’s production of Mamma Mia & Greenway’s Got Talent Show.
Student Art Exhibition
Students in Fairfax High School’s Visual Arts Magnet and art classes will be able to display and sell up to 2 works of art that encompasses the theme “The Next First Step: Reimagining the Future”. The exhibition will take place on Thursday, April 11th from 4pm-6pm, and Sunday, April 14th from 12pm-2pm inside the Rotunda at Fairfax High School.
Greenway’s Got Talent
Greenway’s Got Talent is GIA’s upcoming talent competition! Auditions will be held after school everyday from March 11th to March 14th, and all areas of performing arts will be considered for the show. Students will have the opportunity to win up to $500 in cash! The talent show will take place in April at Greenway Court Theatre.
