March 2026 at Greenway Institute for the Arts!

It’s been an action-packed month at GIA with our Dance Company, Melrose Fashion Week Events, and MTP Entrepreneurship Program!

Greenway Fairfax Dance Company

The Greenway Fairfax Dance Company had a very busy March full of performances! From showing their Fairfax pride at Middle School Day and Spring Pep Rally, to performing at the Los Angeles Travel Show, we here at Greenway cannot wait to see them culminate their exciting season in May at our stage.

Check out our most recent performance at the Spring Pep Rally and be sure to subscribe to Greenway Fairfax Dance Company’s YouTube channel!

Melrose Fashion Week Runway

Fairfax High School opened this year’s Melrose Fashion Week Showcase with a Runway Show titled “Fashion, Fairfax Style!” A partnership between Greenway Institute for the Arts and the Fairfax Fashion Teacher Nyasha Williams, these talented students represented their fabulous school style and incorporated a sustainable element into their outfit. Thank you to all of the amazing students who participated and represented Fairfax in this year’s event!

Screenprinting Classroom Residency

In celebration of Melrose Fashion Week’s focus on sustainable fashion, we brought Chris Bailey from the fashion brand Last One Left into fashion design classes at Fairfax High School. Through his brand, Chris repurposes thrifted clothing by screen-printing on them to create one-of-a-kind items. He shared his process with the students, who designed their own Fairfax senior-themed graphics and, with his help, screenprinted them on either t-shirts or canvas. We enjoyed bringing in a long time (has he been there a long time? LOL) Melrose Trading Post vendor who is passionate about sharing his expertise with students. Thank you Chris!

Entrepreneurship Program

This past month, we had the Oasis Club and Fairfax Visual Arts Magnet Council oasis.fairfax & fundraise at the Melrose Trading Post as a part of our Entrepreneurship program!

This program allows LAUSD student groups and organizations to raise money through their own booth in the market.

We are happy to continue supporting Fairfax clubs and organizations in their effort to create community!
