It’s been a busy month here at GIA as we wrap up the 2023-2024 school year and get ready for the Fall semester!
Fairfax Class of 2024 Graduation
Congratulations to our Greenway Graduates! We are incredibly proud of all that our seniors have accomplished throughout their time here at Greenway. We want to acknowledge our GIA interns who have worked closely with staff and have assisted in making sure that operations here at GIA run smoothly. Additionally, we want to recognize our participants in the Greenway after-school program who shared their talents by writing and performing for our Greenway end of the year showcases. We have no doubts that our seniors will succeed in their future endeavors and we give you our best wishes.
Farewell to our amazing 2023-2024 interns!
On June 25th, we held a farewell lunch to celebrate our Greenway Institute of the Arts interns Valeska and Joy as they exit their senior year. Over the 2023-2024 school year, these two interns have greatly contributed to our projects and events here at GIA through their amazing work ethic and willingness to learn. Valeska, our arts education intern, covered our social media management and administrative roles. Joy, our costume design intern, designed costumes and organized the inventory for our student-written musical Secrets of Hailey’s Cove. We want to thank them for their diligent efforts that have not gone unnoticed. We miss them so much already!
Planning for the year ahead
On June 12th, the Greenway Institute of the Arts team had a retreat to plan and discuss the upcoming programs and events for the 2024-2025 school year. GIA is also excited to host their annual Fall Semester Kickoff on August 15th to celebrate the new academic year. The Kickoff celebration will introduce Fairfax High School students to Greenway, featuring fun and interactive activities, delicious food and treats, a raffle, and much more to get them excited about the year ahead. We hope to see you there!
