It’s been a busy summer here at GIA!
Level Up Program: MTP Fun Day
Greenway Institute for the Arts and Melrose Trading Post hosted an MTP Fun Day for the MTP Level Up participants! MTP Fun Day is an annual summer event for Level Up participants where they get to spend time together outside of work to develop their teamwork and leadership skills. Students started their day with a game of MTP Jeopardy in the Greenway Court Theatre. The game tested their on-the-job knowledge. After lunch, they participated in the ultimate group bonding activity: escape rooms. It was a great opportunity for both adult and student staff to exercise leadership and teamwork skills. We can’t wait for next year’s MTP Fun Day!
Onboarding Our New Intern
All July long, Greenway Institute for the Arts on-boarded their new Level Up interns for the 2024-2025 school year! Our new interns Payton and Suzette came in to get trained by former arts education intern Valeska and Greenway staff. Their areas of focus will be on arts administration, social media and programming. We are excited to have them both be a part of their team!
Awaiting the Kickoff
GIA is also excited to host their annual Fall Semester Kickoff on August 15th to celebrate the new academic year. The Kickoff celebration will introduce Fairfax High School students to Greenway, featuring fun and interactive activities, delicious food and treats, a raffle, and much more to get them excited about the year ahead. We hope to see you there!
