The Greenway Institute of the Arts finishes another amazing spring semester!

A Team in Motion, Stays in Motion.

To kick off this month, the Greenway Fairfax Dance Team had their dance concert on May 15th-18th at the Greenway Court Theatre. Entitled Poetry in Motion, the concert featured songs from artists such as Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, and many more. The team, led by dance teacher Nicole Mathis-Berman, has been hard at work, practicing the entire semester and having multiple performances prior to this event.

The hard work paid off as the team had three magnificent performances and was met with high praise and standing ovations from the crowd. GIA congratulates the team on all their amazing achievements!

Senior Send-off!!

After their spectacular spring concert, the Greenway Fairfax Dance team celebrated with their end-of-the-year banquet. It was an evening of delicious food, fun certificates, laughter and tears, and of course lots and lots of dancing. Here’s to another great year!

Bop, bop, bop to the top!

On Friday May 28th, the Fairfax Theatre Club had two outstanding performances of their spring production of High School Musical. Directed by Ms. Angela Barrett and assisted by GIA’s teaching artists Johnny and Zuri, the students showcased all of their hard work and talent and it is safe to say that the audience enjoyed every second of it. The Greenway Art’s Alliance celebrates the students on their amazing work and we can’t wait to see what they do next!

Goodbyes and Good Luck!

To finish off the semester, we had a special lunch on June 11th to celebrate our GIA 2024-2025  school year interns Payton and Suzette! Their amazing work could be seen through the success of our various shows and programming. Whether it be working on social media and marketing, costume design, or stage management, their dedication shined through and left an impact on the program. They will be greatly missed but we know they have a bright future ahead of them!
