Summer of Fun!
The GIA team had an exciting and busy summer. From trips to Dave & Busters with our MTP student workers to performances at the LAUSD Superintendent event with our Dance Company, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend it! With the school year here, we’re excited about what the Fall has in store for us.
Long time no see, Lions.
On August 13th, GIA hosted a complimentary bagel & coffee breakfast for the Fairfax team on Pupil Free Day. GIA held a special presentation, led by our director of student programs Christina alongside Greenway’s co-founders Whitney and Pierson, illustrating Greenway’s partnership with Fairfax, GIA’s art programs, and ways for teachers to get involved!
Dancing Through Life!
On August 27th, GIA kicked off rehearsals for their fall showcase entitled Land of Oz with Wicked Day! Students celebrated with karaoke, pizza, and a special appearance from Glinda herself! (who looks extremely similar to our Director of Student Programming Christina) Sad you missed Wicked day? There’s still time to join in on the fun! Join us every Wednesday from 4pm-6pm at the Greenway Court theatre and be a part of the Land of Oz featuring songs from The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and the Wicked franchise!
